Wombat Box No. 29
Catalogue accompanying the exhibition There are always flowers for those who want to see them at Galerie für Moderne Fotografie, 17.11.2017 – 13.01.2018.
A free thinker and die-hard creative, Paul Rousteau went to the École Steiner Waldorf in France, followed by art studies at the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Tournai, Belgium, and nishing up with a photography course at the l’École des Arts Appliqué in Vevey, Switzerland. Both national and international publications (The New Yorker, M Le Monde, Dazed & Confused, i-D, etc.) as well as global brands (Cartier, Diptyque, Louis Vuitton, etc.) vie for his photographs. Paul Rousteau employs an approach based on colour. He reconstructs his visual stories in which the blended images are brought together through a shared colour palette.
All the images of this portfolio were made between 2015 and 2017. They were shown at Galerie für Moderne Fotografie (Berlin), Paris Photo by the Galérie du jour Agnès b. (Paris), at the Rencontres d’Arles (Arles), at the Galerie Forma (Lausanne) and at the Festival International de Mode et de Photographie in Hyères, France.
